Managing food supplies

Managing your food supplies in an emergency is almost as important as your water supply. While you can survive longer without food then water; starving shouldn’t be on your to-do list when in an emergency.
You should preserve your food supply for as long as possible. Your food supplies should be rationed for everyone except the elderly, children, and pregnant women. Simply because most people can remain healthy with half as much food as we normally consume. You can even survive without food for a couple of days without any un-due consequences save for hunger if needed.
Keep your food storage up-to-date and ready to go in the case of an emergency. This will help to ensure that you and your family won’t go without. You may even want to invest in a cooking stove that is powered by gas or solar power; enabling you to cook your food. Remember, if the food smells foul or “off” do not eat it, no matter how hungry you may be. This could cause sickness that you and your family do not need during an emergency.
