    While sanitation may not be in the forefront of your mind during an emergency; it is imperative to the health of you and your family to stay hygienic during an emergency. But, how do you do that during a disaster? When there is no readily available water supply or plumbing?
     This is an easy to handle situation if you prepare yourself early! Store up on water for not only drinking but for sanitation as well. This will help during the times when you need to get clean.
      Sanitation and hygiene supplies include such as heavy-duty plastic bags, twist ties, disinfectant, and toilet paper.  If you are able to, purchase a portable camp toilet or small trash can to keep your surroundings clean. You can even find emergency sanitation kits that include things such as:
